WAS IST PASSIERT?

Auf Antrag von CDU und AfD soll es in Heidenau (Sächsische Schweiz- Osterzgebirge) keine weiteren Stolpersteine mehr geben.

Die Stolpersteine sind ein Kunstwerk von Gunter Demnig, die an die Opfer des Nationalsozialismus erinnern sollen. Das besondere: Die kleinen Messingtafeln werden, am letzten freigewählten Wohnort der Opfer, in den Boden eingelassen und erinnern so bereits an das Schicksal von über 100.000 Menschen in ganz Europa.

WAS IST DER GEGENVORSCHLAG?

Die Parteien CDU und AfD möchten das Gedenken an die Opfer auf den Nordfriedhof der Stadt auslagern. Das Problem: Das Gedenken würde damit an den Stadtrand verschoben.

Demnig wollte genau das nicht. Sein Ziel war ein Gedenken im öffentlichen Raum, was einem im Alltag begegnet und den Menschen wieder ihr Gesicht und ihre Geschichte zurückgibt, die Opfer des NS-Regimes geworden sind.

GEDENKEN STATT VERBANNUNG

Wir stellen uns gegen diese Verbannung aus dem öffentlichen Raum. Wenn das Gedenken an die dunkelsten Kapitel unserer Geschichte nicht mehr im Alltag erfahrbar bleibt, sondern ausgelagert wird, dann setzen wir uns nicht mehr damit auseinander.

Es geht nicht um Schuld. Es geht um Verantwortung und die Pflicht so etwas in Zukunft zu verhindern. Deshalb setzen wir uns auch weiterhin für eine dezentrale Form des Gedenkens in unseren Städten ein.
