2️⃣ Durch eine Vereinbarung von Gilead mit der Pan American Helath Organization sollen auc Argentinien, Brasilien, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Kolumbien, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay und Venezuela Zugang zur #Lenacapavir- #PrEP zum Schutz vor #HIV bekommen.

Der Pharmakonzern Gilead und die Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) haben eine Vereinbarung über die Beschleunigung des Zugangs zur medikamentösen #HIV- #PrEP mit dem langwirksamen #Lenacapavir bekanntgegeben. Zugang sollen so auch Länder mit mittleren Einkommen bekommen.

Fidschi hat einen nationalen #HIV- Notstand erklärt. Die Zahl der Diagnosen ist seit 2010 um rund 3000% gestiegen, seit 2022 um 1400%. Der Anteil der Menschen mit HIV liegt bei 1%, bei 15- bis 49-Jährigen bei 1,6%. Jede Woche wird ein Kind mit HIV geboren, jeden Monat stirbt ein Kind an den Folgen.

Die Kürzungen des US-Programms #PEPFAR betreffen auch Screenings auf Gebärmutterhalskrebs-Vorstufen bei Menschen mit #HIV und die Behandlung und dürften zu zusätzlichen vermeidbaren Todesfällen führen. Bis 2025 wurden ca. 9 Millionen Screenings und >365.000 Behandlungen im PEPFAR-Rahmen durchgeführt

3️⃣ Repressive Gesetze zur #Sexarbeit und Kontrollen können Stigma, Angst vor Sanktionen und Misstrauen gegenüber Behörden verstärken. Dadurch wird der Zugang zu Angeboten der #HIV und STI-Prävention, Tests und Behandlung erschwert.

2️⃣ #Sexwork _er*innen in der EU und im EWR sind überproportional von #HIV und anderen STIs betroffen. Niedrigschwellige, vertrauliche und respektvolle Angebote in Prävention, Testung und Behandlung müssen ausgebaut werden. Die #Kriminalisierung von #Sexarbeit steht dem entgegen.

Das Europäische Zentrum für die Prävention und Kontrolle von Krankheiten #ECDC @ecdc.europa.eu hat einen Überblick über Präventions- und Testangebote zu #HIV und sexuell übertrangenen Infektionen für #Sexarbeit_ er*innen in der EU und dem Europäischen Wirtschaftsraum veröffentlicht.
