I just recently caught a long-tailed tit on a walk, and boy howdy, are they tiny! I couldn't even identify these little guys until after I'd gotten home because they're so small lol

A long-tailed tit (Paridae) perches on a fat green tree branch with the tree's waxy leaves in the background of the image, but not in focus. The branch diagonally crosses the frame from the bottom left corner to the top right corner, with a few offshoots coming from it, some of which are in focus while others are not. The long-tailed tit is smaller than a robin with a tiny, stubby black beak, black eye, and a tail that is as long as his body, if not longer. He sits in profile, facing left. He has a thin brown line right around the top of his eye that looks like eyeliner. There is also a dark stripe of plumage above his eye that meets another black line across the back of his throat and a third black line running down the outside length of his wings and down his long tail feathers. His crown is pale, with a patch of tan plumage near his beak. His cheeks are streaked pale and dark, while his throat is a pale buff color. His breast is a slightly deeper buff color, and it looks as though the feathers of his neck and breast are slightly puffed.

Just a few of a colorful flock of about 50 Pigeons in our rural Yakima Valley neighborhood…fun watching them circle as a flock before landing…

I’ve gone with the Alt theme. A Collared Dove does its best impression of the angel Gabriel - ‘I bring you good tidings of great joy, Barrie is putting out the bird seed’ 😊

It is facing right so that its right side is showing. It is a medium sized bird with pale grey-beige plumage and a thin black beak. It has a dark red eye and a black collar on the nape of the neck. The outer wingtips have a grey outline. It’s deer can be seen partially hanging over the stump and appear a darkish colour. The tail is obscured. Behind the dove another palm trunk with a light, sandy appearance travels from the bottom left to top left of the frame, tilted slightly left as it goes up. The background is palm leaves, out of focus, taking up the entire scene with white light visible through the gaps.
