Excerpt from SmokeWIP, a sage Owen romance novel wip. Text as follows: That bastard. That fucking bastard. What would he have done if Matthew had been honest? If he'd said something like 'oh, I always thought Billy was hot, so this is like a miracle'? But the part of him that was good at reading people said it wasn't as simple as thinking Billy was attractive. No. This was more than that. Matthew had been carrying a crush on his best friend, one that could never be actualized or reciprocated, for over a decade. Would he have been willing proxy for that? His gut and hurt feelings insisted that, no, he would never. But he'd wanted Matthew from the first look, so maybe. Honestly maybe. He would've been disgusted in himself for having so little regard for his own worth, but Matthew was singularly beautiful and he might have been tempted.
