I FINISHED WRITING THAT FIC!! Who would've thought 3.5k words would take me so long lol, how things have changed. Anyway, I can rest easy now and go back to my WIPs (I hope) #lgbtqwriteathon

No writing this week, but I edited my short story for a writing jam I wrote this summer and sent it off to my beta. I had a job interview (finding out next week if I made it through to the next round), and I had to deal with my neurodivergent kid's school change too.
I think it was pretty good. I got my 10k on 40-something trans dude phantom thief WIP, and did a lot of planning for my NovNov/First Draft Fall project.
My personal and school life is crumbling a bit, but otherwise, it's all good! 🥲
This week went well, though I didn't meet my goals 😅
There's still hope I'll finish The Reformatory today, but I barely wrote this week! Tho, a short story of mine was published, another short story was been plotted & outlined, & I even got a functioning timeline up for CMI!
#LGBTQWriteAThon check in
I was successful with my writing goals this week, with finishing up some loose plotting, then writing 1k words to start this solarpunk idea. I'm also 1/3 into Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, which I'll finish sometime soon.
Now onto vacation!
#LGBTQWriteAThon Man, this week went *well*. I'm almost finished with TNS chapter 4, and I've taken enough notes on Beehemia that I'm almost ready to outline. I have *also* gotten together most of my grad school application; all I need now is a personal statement and references.
Sorry, y’all, it’s been a rough week. Sometimes the cancer meds like to pull out all the side effects. I didn’t write a darn thing, I didn’t keep up with responses here, and I don’t think I plotted a single point. Next week maybe?
#LGBTQWriteAThon check-in day!
I had a productive week (round 1 proofing done, made 2nd pages, started round 2 proofing, wrote every day!). I kicked my cold, chinchilla went to the vet (he is okay), I went to the theater, and I made pumpkin pie!
So many good bookish things happening too. 😁
I've had a productive writing week, mostly adding texture and detail to Darwin's Cliff. The chapter I was working on yesterday involved a storm as dramatic punctuation, which had me squeaking with joy because it's so totally on brand for me.

I'm afraid this week was a wash. 😭
Too many appointments with little time between them.
Luckily, weaning off the crutch means more freedom to move around on my own.
Plus, the schedule gets more breathing room the rest of the month.
#LGBTQWriteAThon 10. Finished the upgrade to This Is How Immortals Die and submitted it to Saphly 🙌🏽
In the meantime, I've also created a wee template for organising my demons, and I've also been tweaking them a little to deepen that eastern world-building through their traits and behaviours.

Check in!
My only goal was to handle my release this week! I did! I took it pretty easy the rest of the week, working on a bet@ read a bit and a little here and there on other things.
Ready to jump back in next week!
#LGBTQWriteAThon my week's been pretty good! I got some reading in, did some writing (although I now have doubts about my skills as a storyteller, but this will pass), and I'm starting to make plans for 2027!

Well, it sort of has some horror elements, so...
A detective riddled with grief and trauma, haunted by ghosts, a new to town pathologist, and a string of gruesome murders all seemingly linked to ghosts of the past. Dead people lurking in smiles and voice...
not a FAVOURITE outfit as such, but Finn's fit throughout Shark WIP is a grey, cap-sleeved vest, long dark blue shorts and a blue neckerchief embroidered with silver; this was the blanket he was found swaddled in as a foundling, now repurposed so he can wear it always.
🦈✨
#LGBTQWriteAThon October 9: Secrets
While I have side characters hide secrets like kidnapping, world domination, etc, my main characters are ALWAYS hiding insecurities.
For example, they'll act all cool and confident but inside they're total wrecks with terrible self esteem who need a hug!
Akieryon’s secret is an important part of the plot of Balances.
Tharaiyelagh isn’t exactly HIDING the fact that his brother is a famous thief, but he doesn’t like to talk about it either.

#LGBTQWriteAThon 9. Skeletons in the closet?
Aidan probably has literal skeletons in his closets. He is a taxidermist in his spare time and often collects bones and prepares them for future projects.
Seymour has too much baggage to keep secrets. He is extremely cagey about discussing his past. It’s not secret, just ugly and he doesn’t like thinking about it.
A nice sorta-secret is his bisexuality. He’s out, but has some imposter syndrome about it, so he often keeps it quiet.
