Such a common sp. here, their movements often go overlooked. I see handfuls off inland most autumns, but this was nice. Continentals moving after moult? Icelandics on way who knows where?
That'll do.

Fire Bug!
A calm warm sunny morning perfect for a late season trip to Kingsdown Leas. Scanning the Everlasting Pea fortunate to find one worn Long-tailed Blue. Several Adonis were still on the wing, inc this ♂️which had me 🤔 😕 as it had lost its internal hindwing spots @savebutterflies.bsky.social #KentNature
Hard work out today. There were several Clouded Yellows and, as is more usual for this time of year, lots of Migrant Hawkers.
Garden Warbler (just one) the avian highlight and only six Blackcap (thats just one bird an hour) and no other sylvia’s - that’s not normal. #KentBirding #KentNature
Couldn't sleep, an out 'still dark' walk 04:00.
Dawn 06:13, h.t. 05:05, most waders would have roosted from c. 03:00, 'true night'. Meaning more likely to use sea walls than risk ashore. Yup, walls lined. Come first mud in civil twilight, loads on move.
Worth straining old eyes for.
