Why thanks young Amy, you brought me a little luck👍

1) Target boat o.k., considering heat haze and 3.5-4.5 km away (Wanted distant shots of PS Waverley leaving estuary on last 2026 sailing).

2) #BareNakedBirding en route to vp a tad better, what w/ a half-century+ of Gresh by local creek again 😇

Neighbour: going to farm shop on island, wld I like an hr on a bench at Qboro?

Soon watching a steady pulse of Sandwich terns into Swale☺️ but real highlight was out past Deadmans, where flats flashed white w/ 000s of Shelduck.

Made this heat graph of Shelduck on Medway when 1st moved back 2013 from published monthly max counts. 1st returners mid/late Sep were picked up in '90s when estuary well covered. Poor counts thereafter, Nationally important nos (over 610) are routine at this time of year. Their moult migration return is made in hops thru' series of estuaries, w/ many UK Shelduck returning thru s-e. Peaking here in New Year.

I'm not going to be getting out #BareNakedBirding much for rest of the year.
You'll be doing yourself a big favour.. 😉

Such a common sp. here, their movements often go overlooked. I see handfuls off inland most autumns, but this was nice. Continentals moving after moult? Icelandics on way who knows where?

That'll do.
