Sometimes all you need is some ProgMetal, the stranger the better. This for example is one I like to return to from time to time for the parts that are jazzy or PowerMetal-y in a sea of DeathMetal.

I really enjoy the latest from Hanging Garden. It's one of the rare examples where the sound of Black/DoomMetal doesn't horribly clash with a more Pop-ish chorus, but instead blends both styles perfectly.
Very melodic, full of hooks and just great!

So Aephanemer released a remaster of their first LP. It's been a while since I heard it so I don't have a direct comparison, but this is an absolutely great album. It's fast, folky and fun melodic DeathMetal, excellently performed.

Their style seems to alternate and mix alternative Rock and Psychedelic Metal; not a combination I would have expected to work as well as this!

Rock/Americana (I'd say), quite nicely written and produced, with the violin and vocals standing out the most to me.

In parts, this has a big-band Jazz feel and focuses on the fondness we have for lost loved ones.
