@florgoth.bsky.socialThere are two sure-fire ways to get me interested in your DungeonSynth music:
1. Make it super atmospheric but melodic.
2. Use vocals that make you sound like a deranged, rabid gremlin.
@eveyweveydevey.bsky.social got both in these songs! 😁
Highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialI don't think I've listened to Humulus before, but I like their style!
Their music falls under the PsychRock umbrella, but occasionally drifts into old-school Doom or alternative Rock as little embellishments.
Pretty unique and really cool!
Highly, highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialThe new Corvus Corone takes a bit to get going (it's FuneralDoom after all), but it really pays off!
Fantastic HEAVY music to drift along with; and also with vocals you don't want to hear behind you in a dark alley!
Highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialSo the new project by Ted Skjellum of Darkthrone fame. I liked it quite a bit! It has a little older DeathMetal vibes and can bring the epicness when it's called for.
What's similar to DT is imo, that the sound feels like it's very familiar already, but not bad!
Highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialOkay, the new Smoulder. Their sound is really cool, but it felt kind of unsatisfying to me. A little too even without any "moments", maybe.
It might grow on me more on a repeat listen, since I really enjoyed their last album, but I'm not in a rush to hit play again. 🤷
Recommended.
@florgoth.bsky.socialI honestly wanted to listen to this album because of the bands name and cover, but today must be my lucky day because this is some really nice atmospheric and melodic StonerRock.
The vocals are perfect for the style and the bass- and guitar-tones are spot on.
Highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialAfter seeing their band photo, I expected these folks to play BlackMetal, but instead it's more in a PunkRock/PostPunk style that's been spiced with a little Metal.
A really cool sound, made even better with the garage band feel and pretty good lyrics.
Fun stuff!
Highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.social#JustListened (again)
I felt like I needed something with a little more energy this evening. Then I remembered that I had not listened to this one in a bit, and I'm happy to say that it did indeed hit the spot!
Highly, highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.social#JustListened (3 times!)
The new album by @sylfvr.art is described as "a conduit for pains and joys" and I could not agree more.
It is intense and beautiful in equal measure and has an incredible sense of movement.
An amazingly engaging sound; I absolutely love it!
Highly, highly recommendation!
@florgoth.bsky.socialOften it seems like newer ProgMetal is either a loveletter to the older, theatrical style, or a technical showcase of how good the band can shred. This however, is as perfect a blend of the two as I've heard in a while!
Mesmerizing and very engaging. Awesome!
Highest recommendation!
@florgoth.bsky.socialI don't listen to that much traditional HeavyMetal, probably mostly so I can really appreciate it when Haunt release a new album! 😁
Fantastic songs with a picture-perfect production once again!
Highly, highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialNew album by @bofbriz.bsky.social!
The lyrics are the obvious star here, but the arrangement is something quite unusual for Hip-Hop, at least to my uneducated ears.
And the verses are nothing if not elaborate and well crafted.
Good stuff!
Highly, highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialAs The Sun Falls have just released a track as a single that was left off of their gorgeous album from May. Maybe they forgot about the Autumn Of MeloDeath and didn't want to be left out? 😆
Great song in any case; big, folky and super melodic!
Highly, highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialSo I randomly saw this and the band is actually here!
An album by @eroina.bsky.social that is basically a loveletter to Italian pop-cinema from the '60s to the '80s. And it actually sounds exactly like the soundtracks of those movies!
Very fun!
Highly, highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialThis release by @vaporbabe.filthandbugs.com may already be 6 years old, but it's the perfect music for a beautiful day in autumn.
It starts and ends with tremendously lovely guitar-led folk, but mixes in BlackMetal seamlessly.
Highly, highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialI'll need another round with the new Einvigi to let it sink in a bit more, but as far as atmospheric BlackMetal goes, I enjoyed this quite a bit!
It felt like there was a lot of focus on the vocals and I definitively can see why.
Good stuff!
Highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialA new album by @sgaile.bsky.social. A very slick production on this rather contemplative and uplifting piece. The sound is pretty bright, which works for the overall mood and makes the heavier parts stand out more.
Nicely done!
Highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.socialOkay, now that the first hype is over...
This album by @wraithstormmetal.bsky.social is pretty amazing!
I hear some Children of Bodom in there, some old In Flames, and basically every band from that Gothenburg era of MeloDeath. But it still is it's own thing!
Highest recommendation!
@florgoth.bsky.socialSo once again, I'm at a loss for words when it comes to the music @raudvik.northsky.social makes.
But I did enjoy this one! It evokes images of space travel for me; vast and wide open, with the tiniest spec of melody as the spacecraft.
Listen on headphones!
Highly recommended!
@florgoth.bsky.social#JustListened (twice)
And the next debut of the day, the first single by Extant, the new project by @peregrinator.net.
An excellently aggressive sound with @baltech.bsky.social on bass, some great lyrical work by @abigailirfan.bsky.social and @vanessafunke.bsky.social on vocal duty.
