Not remotely a stile, but it's a metal ladder for access, so maybe nearly counts, right...???

(Also a sign to indicate the government will still be thinking of slips, trips, falls and bumps in event of nuclear war. Just in case they get sued afterwards.)

#AllMetalMonday

Look I know it's not a stile, but...

Metal ladder for bunker access shaft with rope and impressive counterweight system for hatch As if you'd not got enough to worry about with nuclear war, a safety sign reading MIND YOUR HEAD AND BACK

Cottingham lead tank AD 800-950.
Possibly [?re] used as baptismal font or holy water tank. Animal motifs alternate w warriors. These can have #Viking and Christian symbolism eg Sigur/St Michael slaying dragon/death and also found on eg stone crosses.

Auckland Project's Faith Museum

Sections of a sandy-gold coloured lead tank are displayed, set out in their likely original positions.
Shown on the surface of two sections are triangular relief features (one pointed down, one up). One shows the Viking god Sigurd who stands over a dragon he has just slain. Such figures were also familiar to Christians who often showed the devil as a dragon.
In the other visible panel are two beasts snapping at each other above a larger beast, with snakes around them all.
The tank is c. 40cm in diameter and was found in Cottingham Northants. There are 8 panels in all, alternating human warrior figures with animals.
