Can’t believe this thread is so long without mentioning one of my favorite parts of fall biking: the return of flannel!
Great conversation with Alex from the Climate Action Association about #WeekWithoutDriving, transportation choices, and how #drivers and #nondrivers can participate.

Also a shout out to @cmfrumin.bsky.social both for coming to the event to support DC Scores *and* for arriving by bike! #bikedc #WeekWithoutDriving
For #WeekWithoutDriving, we published a report showing that car dependence is a burden for people across the US, draining household budgets and leaving drivers feeling trapped. A few key findings with @dataforprogress.org:
It’s #weekwithoutdriving , and I’m heading to Chapel Hill Town Hall for tonight’s Town Council meeting. Am I driving? Nope, it’s an easy trip on the NS. I’ve used it many times to get there, not just today
I missed the bus, so Lime carried me home on the last leg of my Day 7 #WeekWithoutDriving journey.
Hot tip: Lime’s offering a 50% off discount code for the Week Without Driving: WWD26
And Veo’s offering a $5 ride credit: CARFREE26
The only thing missing? Protected bike lanes on Connecticut Ave…
On day 7 of the #WeekWithoutDriving, this scene on Columbia Rd NW made me smile. Tons of people waiting for and boarding the bus from a bus island, a bike rider passing through unimpeded and protected, and the sidewalk I was on had with plenty of space for pedestrians to travel.
For the 6th day of the #WeekWithoutDriving I decided to look around and find signs that have Inupiaq words. I think it's cool that we get to see our language on the signage around Kotzebue.
Politicians decide how to spend taxes. Make them realize you know their "add a lane" monologs are a LIE.

A video dispatch from day 7 of #WeekWithoutDriving, featuring an intermodal bus-bike commute and the dreaded Metro fare gates! #stl #StLouis
#weekwithoutdriving There are so many terrible crosswalks. In the wrong place. Not enough. With buttons you have to push but which are hard to reach. Curb cuts missing or awkward or in wrong place. And highways cutting through cities that make any kind of crossing impossible except at limited points
#weekwithoutdriving Transit is essential, but it only really works with micromobility: bikes, trikes, cargo bikes, e-bikes, scooters. People often need to be able to autonomously get to/from places transit doesn’t go (and where transit shouldn’t be expected to go).
Daily Reflection on #WeekWithoutDriving - Do you think your participation in the Week Without driving is making a collective impact with others who have also chosen to not drive this week?
