Hey! Any other Common Idia Moths around here? You gotta try this tree goop! It has a sugar-banana base with a hint of stale beer. So much better than the dead leaves I've been eating in my youth. Watch out for the paparazzi.

Hi Rob, @vc28nature.bsky.social could you take a look at this one for me please. On a wild pear. Found 3 very similar, 2 with egg upper surface 1 egg lower. No larvae unfortunately. Could they be Stigmella pyri? Just in Shropshire, no records show shrop, or staffs. Thanks. #teammoth

My last #moth session for a little while, as my attention turns to birding for a few weeks, was successful with this Acrobasis tumidana last night in Cambs. Smart looking micro 👍

2 stunning examples of a Small Mottled Willow and a Vestal this morning. I am no expert but I wonder if the Small Mottled Willow has bred here rather than a migrant. Never seen such orange ovals! Also the Vestal is so pink so again maybe bred here. I love how these moths are so variable! #teammoth

Quick trap last night ahead of rain; oddly half the occupants were Carcina quercana! Juniper Carpet was NFY. Puzzled whether Cydia interscindana was a fresh migrant, a lingerer from earlier in the year or locally raised? #TeamMoth

#teammoth My 2026 autumn mothery is turning into a damp squib. Last year was my first autumn and I had good numbers of Mervs, a few Feathered Thorn, R/L & Y/L Quaker, Jun Carpet, Satellite, Figure 8, Deep-Brown Dart…….I’ve had none of these yet. 🤯. Have I not appeased the moth gods?? #mothsmatter
