Part 8, arithmetic sequences and series. Not too spicy.
Part 7, sequences. This is more straightforward than other worksheets.
Normal approximation to the binomial distribution in #ALevelMaths #MathsToday, and I wrote this question as an example of why we might use it in these days of fancy calculators with binomial distribution functions:
If X~B(n, 0.4), find the least value of n such that P(X >= 200) > 0.1.
This starting point has me thinking: inequalities, proof, written and verbal communication could all be explored. I haven't tried it with a class yet but I was surprised how much there is to consider.
If a<b<ab then what can we say about a & b? If a<ab<b? If ab<a<b?

In #MathsToday my #ALevelMaths students were introduced to the Compound Angle Formulae and then pretty quickly we got to work applying them in some Harmonic Form questions.

In #mathstoday yr 2 #Alevelmaths did @jamiewoodmaths.bsky.social’s order of transformations walk through, yr 1 looked at simultaneous equations and quadratic inequalities including @mathsjem.bsky.social’s spot the mistake. Grateful for teachers creating and sharing great resources. (Links below)

Hi y'all! I've written a series of worksheets aiming at TMUA/ESAT candidates, kinda analogous to Tyler Tutoring's worksheets but going a bit beyond.
This is the first part on algebra. Answers included.

For you teaching in a Sixth Form college, you see students coming from outside which are all new to you so might have a different perspective on this:
What are the top 3 maths "gaps" you generally see from students fresh from their GCSEs?
