But for the most part, these diets torture people who are already far more likely to have restricted diets due to ARFID (avoidant and restrictive food intake disorder, pejoratively termed “picky eating”), and can lead to malnutrition. 2/2

It's Grito de Dolores this week, and if your community is one that celebrates, there might be more stimuli: fireworks, people talking, the pressure to socialize. 1/2

I intend this as neutral-informative. But this is #LateralAbleism. I'm glad that you have so often overcome your challenges. But that does not negate the obstacle/disability that #Neurodiversity often presents. "You can overcome anything" is #ToxicPositivity when presented as advice to others.

I recognised my ADHD thanks to Pina. Really. Not a formal diagnosis, of course, but a genuinely useful and helpful indication. Pina really DOES know what she's talking about!

'Sorry, quick question.' 'Sorry, one more thing.' 'Sorry, sorry, I'll stop.' I apologized 14 times in one meeting for existing. My kid: 'Sorry' for dropping a fork. 'Sorry' for asking for water. 'Sorry' for saying sorry. He learned it from someone. Hi.WHY: Years of being 'too much' teach Neurospicy people to pre-apologize for taking up space. WHAT HELPS: Swap 'sorry' for 'thank you.' 'Thanks for waiting' instead of 'sorry I'm slow.'You don't need to apologize for needing things. Neither do they. Say thank you and keep going.

Similarly, writer January Nelson should not be invoking Steve Silberman on supposed autism elitism, when his autism work was about neurodiversity and inclusivity.

Not linking to the article. Look up "Edward Norton autism" if you want to be as irritated as I am. -SR

I wrote a blog post, perhaps my last? It's about autists living in an NT world — what it looks like from the inside.

It's called "A Life Inside", and you can read it here: carelesstalkblog.wordpress.com/2026/09/12/a...

I'm more than sure that #AuDHD and #ADHD have been pivotal in resisting conformity and authority figures. "Look, I need to do this my own way," was the first cognizant response we learned. #mentalhealth #neurodiversity

How many other people with #AuDHD or #ADHD have felt themselves unable to let go of a stream of thought? It happens to me frequently. I feel like a dog with a chew toy, I just cannot let go, even after a good mangling. #neurodiversity www.blametheamygdala.com/blog/beware-...

I created a free eBook that covers ways neurodiversity-affirming practice can support Autistic teens and adults, and how speech pathology may help address communication barriers.

Speech pathology (SP) for teens and adults. A free resource for Autistic adolescents, adults, and their support team thinking about whether SP is the right fit. Shadia Hancock, CPSP. www.autismactually.com.auSomething I hear about often from Autistic adults and their loved ones is, "I know that Speech Pathologists can help with children, but how will it help me now?" Some clinicians may feel unsure about how to adPt therapy sessions for different age groups. Does this sound familiar? As an Autistic adult and Speech Pathologist, I get it. Despite Autistic teens and adults definitely existing, there is far less information on the subject compared to Autistic children.

I created a free eBook that talks about ways neurodiversity-affirming practice can be applied to support Autistic teens and adults, and how speech pathology may assist in addressing communication barriers.I hope that this guides you with understanding whether speech pathology may help you or someone you support.
