-The other people can be cast as my characters as we go. Mostly an unknown voice cast, really, I think.
By the way, while we're on the subject of Diamond of the Universe, chapters eight and nine are now live on Royal Road!!! :)

This is also a hard one to figure out...
I have no clue who would be my characters in A Diamond of the Universe because it's hard to keep up with today's voice actors and Hollywood actors in general.
I'd honestly like to be the narrator of Diamond, really...
@andria-kennedy.comI have way too many voices I adore to NOT have thought of this one. 😁
Idris Alba is MujaRi all the way.
Ashley Eckstein has always been Gielle's voice in my head.
And Jarian is Matt Damon for reasons I don't understand.
@ewanstone.ukI'm afraid I have no idea 😅 It would need to be someone comfortable with both long-form storytelling and over-indulgent descriptions, and also obscene noises. Not sure I could ask another human being (or two) to take part in that!
What are the Disco Elysium gang up to these days? 🤔
@bumblebigirl.bsky.socialDavid Tennant as Conductor, gotta have Tennant. Barry Keoghan as Weasel. Benedict Wong as Harold. Adjoa Andoh as Lavinia. Shirley Henderson as the Fairy. I might stop there.
#pretendpanel
@bumblebigirl.bsky.socialJonathan Banks as Keller. Again, slam dunk, easy as.
#pretendpanel
@bumblebigirl.bsky.socialHolly Hunter for Dee. Easy one. Who else?
#pretendpanel
@bumblebigirl.bsky.socialFor Wendy I'm nominating Louisa Harland, who was so charismatic and attention grabbing in Renegade Nell. I think she could pull off playing someone who's over a century old and highly unstable.
#pretendpanel
@bumblebigirl.bsky.socialHonestly I have never thought about casting my characters but what the hey... (I won't do the whole cast, it'd take forever)
For Dido, I'll go for Misha Osherovich who I was blown away by in She's the He. Phenomenal actor.

@melwaverly.bsky.socialI have absolutely no idea because I don't listen to audiobooks.
But I think for book club (WIP3), I'd just want a whole big ass radio-drama style because there are 7 POVs/MCs and that's a lot of voice work. So honestly, let's just go with my dream casting and call it a day.
@author-aarondick.bsky.socialGetting books into audio is a big next step for me, but costs and time have made it tricky so far.
@karamoonauthor.comIt won't surprise people who know the deep lore of A Prayer for the Pirate Queen that I would transcend this mortal plane if I could have Kate Mulgrew voicing Captain Kallista Audax and Gates McFadden voicing Doctor Geni Philistos.

Now's the time to tell us (if you have this) one of your potentially most ridiculous ambitions... (who me?)
September 18th: Dreamcast your audiobook/radio dramatisation.
@author-aarondick.bsky.socialNot a lot to say here, audiobooks are just great. Like going back in time to the story telling of old!
@joharraharper.bsky.socialTV series.
@lockheartfiction.bsky.socialI REALLY want to do this for Resist. It would combine my love for reading aloud to kids and the bits and pieces of VA training and abridgments I did near 20 years ago.
I need a better computer for it and the equipment because I am picky about the quality.
@suncatcherpress.comAbsolutely! We're close to unlocking Collectors Editions hardbacks, then it's on to our 🎧📚 stretch goal. NEED these guys in my 👂s
