Route doesn't exist? 404.
Route doesn't exist yet but should? 405.
Route exists but I'm not allowed? 401 or 403.

I currently have to account for several weird 400s and 500s because there's no consensus on error responses.

The ref PDS doesn't do anything to advertise capabilities tho, so I have a nasty fallback solution that depends on checking one endpoint that should exist, one that shouldn't, and comparing the status codes to determine if we can rely on it as an indicator of spaces support. 🤢

Great question. My biggest takeaway: we need to come to an agreement on how to advertise PDS/service capabilities. MOST of the PDS implementations I'm testing support community.lexicon.service.describe, which works v well.
