Get behind me, Scholar Han

#AgainstTheCurrent

costume dramas done with a skillfully applied modern perspective are so great to watch

by vowing never to take a concubine, Lin Qi not only stays true to his love for Lan Xiang but also his own choice to live the life HE wants rather than following society’s expectations

#AgainstTheCurrent #兰香如故

*jaws on the floor* huh, what? What was that for? I'm confused (but maybe I know why...) #AgainstTheCurrent

*in tears again* poor Scholar Han. #AgainstTheCurrent

Xiuru is my fave among the Lin daughters so watching her being criticized for not bearing a son broke my 💔 😢

at the same time, it was so heartening to see her whole family supporting her position and even Yuan standing up against his mother out of respect for his wife 😊

#AgainstTheCurrent #兰香如故

*in tears* I'm so proud of her father! #AgainstTheCurrent

She is a beautiful bride! #AgainstTheCurrent

My dumb ass not realizing this is the same person until I watched Avenue X's video on #AgainstTheCurrent. PS I like him better bald 😅 #LiXueyi #TheBloodOfYouth #cdrama

The man has a way to bring her in as his and no one can stop him now! #AgainstTheCurrent

Yep yep. This drama has delievered exactly what I'd wanted it to, which was to focus on the women and their stories.
#AgainsttheCurrent

No sex til we share the same dao is a new one but go off girl I guess 😭 #againstthecurrent

Why do I cry at every episode of this show lmao why does it have to be so goddamn life affirming

I've cried for the leads, for like 4 different side characters, and even for the characters in the fuckin opera written by the lead 😭 LITERAL META-TEARS FOR A STORY WITHIN A STORY

#againstthecurrent

#LiuXueYi and #MaFanDing share a cute big brother/little sister moment on Weibo as they promote the cdrama #AgainstTheCurrent 🥹

I am not sure if I will be able to watch #AgainstTheCurrent this weekend because I have to work through the Open House festival 😰

I'd almost forgotten 40 years old back then was like grandpa age. #AgainsttheCurrent

Man people were so dumb back in the day. Imagine getting a second wife because you think they'll be able to give you a son. #AgainsttheCurrent
And what's worse your mother wants a grandson and thinks this is a good plan too. 🤦‍♀️
