@suzvoy.myatproto.socialfinally started watching #PursuitOfJade and after two episodes am enjoying it a lot. Absolutely love the FL and her sister. Looking forward to more!
@her-cool-aunt.bsky.socialUm. Just to say that it’s Zhang Linghe in #PursuitOfJade. Beautiful boy. But different boy.
@zeguir87.bsky.socialPublica un personaje femenino que ames. #PursuitOfJade
@cdramaclub.bsky.socialEver wondered why cdramas constantly fuss over dowry and bride price, and why they both exist? See our explainer: https://www.cdramaclub.com/tea-house/content/t6s8n95b/dowry-vs-bride-price-why-do-both-exist-and-what-is-their-significance-in-classical-china

@aimaiami.bsky.socialI happen to be rewatching #PursuitofJade right now and I am enjoying again the incredible costumes, cinematography, symbolism (shadows, shadow puppets, the red and blue ribbons, the falcon/freedom, the very tang dynasty attitudes towards war) and the erotic charge. Truly one of the greats.
@jamesdramac.bsky.socialYes, as with kdramas a lot of people start with contemporary cdramas - they are certainly more accessible than many historical shows
Though recently I’ve heard of a lot of people getting hooked on #PursuitOfJade or #TheDouble, so it’s difficult to say for sure what will work for each person
@jamesdramac.bsky.socialI’m thinking:
#Reset for a short thriller
#MysteriousLotusCasebook for wuxia/action/mystery
#TheDouble for a glamorous historical revenge
#LoveOfTheDivineTree for fantasy
#PursuitOfJade or #WonderlandOfLove for historical adventure/romance
What do you think? 🙂 (also asking @tinacmml.bsky.social)
@sabihslife.bsky.socialOut of this set #PursuitofJade.
But my go-to recently has been #Glory.
@alicepoonauthor.bsky.socialTaking Ciele's question & going in a direction y'all can see a mile away:
If you had a friend completely new to historical cdramas, which accessible but genuinely good #cdrama would you recommend as a starting point?
#ADreamofSplendor
#NirvanaInFire
#WordofHonor
#PursuitofJade
#FlourishedPeony
@jamesdramac.bsky.socialTurning MaeMae’s question in a slightly different geographical direction: if you had a friend completely new to cdramas, which accessible but genuinely good #cdrama would you recommend as a starting point? 🤔
Eg #PursuitOfJade, #Reset, #WhenIFlyTowardsYou & #LoveOfTheDivineTree?
@lawsnow56.bsky.socialNi-sketch ko si Fan Changyu! She’s so pretty! Gonna continue POJ for her ✨❤️ #cdrama #pursuitofjade
@lianabrooks.bsky.socialThe book has nods to #PursuitOfJade and #ManOnFire do the answer to "What will they do to survive?" is....
... anything. Absolutely anything.
@jamesdramac.bsky.socialA couple of recent dramas I liked but that went below the radar a little are #GeniusGirlfriend (starring the FL from #PursuitOfJade), a youth drama which centres on the relationship between a genius female student & an intelligent but normal male student, & follows them as their circumstances change
