One of the articles in issue 2 of “A Profound Waste of Time” features a mini journal which has been included in the binding, but only occupies a small portion of the page size.A pair of pages in the first issue of “A Profound Waste of Time” says “Hey, you’ve been reading for a while” on the left-hand page, and “Why not take a break?” on the right, which amused me no end when I found it.

I wrote the 1st draft of my WIP to tell readers what I thought they needed to hear

I overhauled it in the 2nd draft to write for me as a reader and arrived at a lean, mean 90k word novel

Draft 3 and I'm still writing for reader me but with beta feedback

I have Bipolar/ADHD so I'm prone to distractions and fidgeting, and while a hardcore King-ite would scream "Distractions Bad!" I just roll with the jumps onto Blue sky or YouTube then get back to work

As a Bipolar/ADHD author I allow myself distractions during my writing sessions - it's part of my process and it works for me

The ritalin helps a great deal though, and routine is my godsend, just getting kicked out from routine is hell

It's Saturday on the Labor Day long weekend, it's raining, so the car park can either run like fingers on silk or clog up worse than an all-cheese diet

Set in Australia, the WIP brings up the 1978 Sydney protest led from Oxford St, commemorated from the year after and becoming the Mardi Gras parade

It also touches on the history of the pink triangle, used to highlight where queerphobia ends up
