📬 Ahead of the looming (🤞) arrival of the KS3 edition of the #ZXSpectrumNext I picked up a copy of the first Crash presents “Next Magazine” from #FusionRetroBooks.

There are 15 issues to date but I decided to start with 2024’s no.1.

📬 Received a package from #FusionRetroBooks today, containing Richard C. Hewison’s “Memories of Rainbird & Beyond” in a lovely slipcase cover edition.

Also comes with a booklet that looks at the games.

📬 I just received a couple of back issues of @patchmagazine.bsky.social to try.

What an absolutely fabulous little magazine 🤗

I have been discovering lots of new indie/specialist outlets of late, and long may this trend of self-publishing continue 🥳

A pair of A5-sized Patch magazines displayed almost side-by-side on a table. These are the August and September back issues, 58 and 59, featuring “Lost in Tandem” and “TOEM2” on the covers. As I opened “Patch Magazine” issue 58 to look at the ToC I was delighted to find an unexpected bookmark for “Lost in Tandem” inside the front cover. I do like me a bookmark and this will go into my collection.A peek at the contents page for both issues of “Patch Magazine” that arrived today.

📬 A flick through of both issues has made me “ooo” at some inserted little booklet-sized pages (very curious!), and laugh at a pair of pages that suggest it’s time to take a break 😆

One of the articles in issue 2 of “A Profound Waste of Time” features a mini journal which has been included in the binding, but only occupies a small portion of the page size.A pair of pages in the first issue of “A Profound Waste of Time” says “Hey, you’ve been reading for a while” on the left-hand page, and “Why not take a break?” on the right, which amused me no end when I found it.
