"Financial rupture" assumes the current system breaks down randomly. Wrong frame: it collapses when currency issuers choose austerity over their own spending capacity. Gold doesn't fix that. Full employment spending does.
The idea that the government needs an income from taxes and 'borrowing' to fund its spending is a lie told by neoliberals to justify continued austerity.

The UK government creates all of the money it spends so it never borrows. What is called borrowing is really a very safe savings for those that buy government bonds.

Jamie wanted to retrain in construction in Leigh and Atherton. The training places sat empty. The equipment was there. The instructors existed. The workers were ready. Westminster chose not to spend the pounds to connect them.
The EU's fiscal rules aren't an economic limit. They're a political choice. Eurozone members can fund public investment; the ECB backstops member-state debt. What stops investment is not solvency but the will to spend. Rule changes are easier than they look.
The state can't afford heating. The state can't afford food support. The state can't afford disability payments. That's the claim. It's wrong. The UK government issues the pound. It can fund these things. The real constraint is resources; fuel, food, care capacity; not money.

The Lib Dems frame a public safety need as a financing problem. A currency issuer doesn't need a tech levy to fund crime enforcement. The real question: why isn't online crime prevention already properly resourced?
Thousands of doctors, nurses and clinicians have been made redundant from the NHS.
There are millions on the waiting list for treatment.
The government have the money.
But no political will to resolve the issue.

"£600m a year" frames maternity safety as a budget problem. It's not. The NHS lacks staff and capacity because the currency issuer chose to underfund it. The question isn't whether we can afford better maternity care. It's why we don't already have it.

Deven wanted to teach physics in Wolverhampton West. The university labs were empty. The shortage was real. The training places existed. Four local graduates wanted them. But the Department for Education said the budget couldn't stretch to connect them.
A war affecting next month's budget? Only if spending is constrained by external shocks rather than real resources and inflation. What matters: the actual resource impact, not the headline.
Blaming Iran for fuel prices misses the point. The UK issues the pound. A fuel-price anchor costs nothing in currency terms. The constraint is refining capacity, not the budget.
