#OctoberWorldbuilders 2: (One famous example was Light Through The Borehole, serving her second term as Tithrik's Administrator of State when the brave women of the Explorer Corps first returned with Tithrik's first message from the stars.)

#OctoberWorldbuilders 2: While the castes themselves are a thing of the past, many Ene are handed down names associated with stoneworking and engineering to this day.

#OctoberWorldbuilders 2: The Ene on the anteyeward side of the High Desert constructed vast underground cities to reach the water table, with a strict organizational hierarchy that in some regions developed into an outright caste system.

#OctoberWorldbuilders 2: The Ene of the Red Eye value the conservation and wise use of water, with villages and towns centred around oases that are only possible with the higher water levels of the subterranean oceans. Tithrik may lack tides, but it does not lack tidal forces!

#OctoberWorldbuilders 5: (The White Eye, giver of light and warmth, dances across the heavens. In some traditions, she's also the goddess of caprice, of merriment, of movement. Heliocentrism is certainly not a theory that ever plagued Tithriki science.)

#OctoberWorldbuilders 2: This has, to no one's surprise, led to particularly unpleasant religious disagreements. The Ene today count themselves lucky their ancestors were able to stay out of the Final War prior to Tithriki unification and the creation of the Tripartite Assembly a thousand years ago.

#OctoberWorldbuilders 2: As one would expect of a moon, Tithrik is tidally locked to its primary, the Red Eye. While traditions vary, one common thread is that the peoples of the Red Eye receive Her blessing, her constant presence in the day and night skies a reminder that they are chosen.

#OctoberWorldbuilders 2: Like anywhere else on Tithrik, the peoples of the High Desert divide themselves into two categories: those of the Eyeward hemisphere and those on the anteyeward side. These are two very distinct groups.

#OctoberWorldbuilders 2: All three intelligent species on Tithrik exhibit the same extreme sexual dimorphism, and gender was unknown prior to first contact. Instead of gender or race, the primary social construct that divides the Ene is what hemisphere they were born in.

#OctoberWorldbuilders 2: But back to the Ene! Reaching perhaps four feet tall by late middle age, the pearlescent-exoskeletoned people possess four many-jointed arms, eight large unblinking eyes, and a mouth hidden away between their legs, next to their ovipositor and cloacae.

#OctoberWorldbuilders 2: Fortunately, no Human has ever set foot on Tithrik to offer this opinion. Without vertebrate life, exoskeletons are the norm on Tithrik and all three species resemble giant arachnids. ("Y'all are monkeys" is not the first thing Humans think upon meeting Tithriki peoples!)

#OctoberWorldbuilders 2: (In terms of evolutionary divergence, Human biologists might think of the Enei as Pan to the Pellin’s Australopithecus and Chenoi's Homo, though viewing the Tithriki peoples through this lens is a particularly offensive idea if one thinks of bonobos as lesser.)

@catherinewinters.comOct 2, 2026, 11:12 PM

#OctoberWorldbuilders 2: Where modern Micapassaise and Humans are now each a single hybrid species, Tithrik is home to three biologically incompatible members of the same taxonomic family. With little genetic admixture, Tithriki scientists have a very different view of speciation than we!

@catherinewinters.comOct 2, 2026, 11:08 PM

#OctoberWorldbuilders 2: Tithrik's High Desert is the birthplace of the Ene, and home to their pre-unification cultures. Fewer in number and smaller than the Chenoi and Pellin of the southern swamplands, the Ene are Tithrik's third indigenous mathematics-using species.

#OctoberWorldbuilders The Hiddigahans are a desert nation. Their land was a center of civilization before the climate changed and the rains moved north.
Their nation is a loose coalition of clans, each one named after a constellation. The clan chiefs meet during the annual eclipse.

#TheDragonblood: All I've worked out about Kumat so far is the ways it is like Ancient Egypt, and not yet the things that make it different.

The language is going to be a descendant of Ancient Egyptian, with a writing system based on/descended from hieroglyphics.

The Isendia Confederation takes up a large portion of the Tizrou. This realm arose from nomadic hunter-gatherers who banded together to survive the harsh desert.

It’s now among the largest, most respected, & economically prosperous realms in Nixtral.

Nobody lives *specifically* at the desert, but a few nomadic peoples visit it on occasion, to collect specific resources (like fulgurite, highly valuable as lucky charms), or just to cross it.

There's no centralized leadership, instead most of those...
