@shenmuevillage.bsky.socialShenmue touched hearts and souls 26 years ago when it was released on December 29th, 1999.... and it changed the game industry, pushed the medium of video games to new heights, and showed what was possible in gaming.
@shenmuevillage.bsky.socialI finally was able to get my hands on the bootleg #ShenmueTheAnimation DVD that someone was selling on eBay, and as a fan of both the Shenmue games and as someone who seen the anime 3 times at this point, it's great to have this in my hands.
@wtshenmue.bsky.socialYou scared me ๐ญ Saw that list and couldn't believe #Shenmue didn't appear haha ๐
@shenmuevillage.bsky.socialRyo finding Ine-san on the grounds of the Hazuki Residence knocked out and laying helpless, completely dazed would set the mood for what Ryo would find as he wandered to investigate what happened and the ensuing events would lead to his father's death.
@wtshenmue.bsky.socialDid You Know?
Ine-san special orders onions from the produce market in Dobuita? Or that the worker Yoshie had a son overseas..?

@shenmuevillage.bsky.socialRyo losing to Yanlang wasn't the problem, nor was that the issue with the story in Shenmue 3 because that was just the cost of the limited budget, coupled with the restrictions of the Kickstarter, and just the poor execution of the whole thing.
@shenmuevillage.bsky.socialInin Games could have saved themselves a lot of hassle if they had a social media person managing the main accounts and communicating with the Shenmue community on a regular basis.
@shenmuevillage.bsky.socialLuoyang was going to be included in Shenmue 2 according to what Yu Suzuki said in the 2024 interview that @shenmuedojo.com and PRS did with him 2 years ago, and what exactly was going to happen in Luoyang is a complete mystery.

@shenmuevillage.bsky.socialLan Di wants you to know that if you're choosing to help the Hazuki boy with his quest for vengeance against him, and he finds out that you're actively doing it to aid him, he's going to find you, and want to have some serious words with you.

@shenmuevillage.bsky.socialSuzhou is going to be a great location in Shenmue 4 when that comes out! What will Ryo, Shenhua, and Ren do when they arrive in the city, and what are the Chi You Men up to, along with will Lan Di be in Suzhou as well.
@oregon-pacifist.retro-gaiden.com.ap.brid.gyRyo sends Fuku-San to the hospital :ryolaugh:
@shenmuevillage.bsky.socialRen's backstory is some really interesting piece of Shenmue lore that the games have not mentioned, but that the official website Shenmue 1 & 2 mentions that he's from the Mongolian Horse Tribe.
@wtshenmue.bsky.socialThat's fantastic! Looks like you got a genuine smile out of our favorite game creator ๐

@shenmuevillage.bsky.socialBukichi Itoi is responsible for one of the most funniest memes in the history of Shenmue, but his meme actually shows the reality of Chinese people living in Japan back then.
(The idea for this post came from ShaunHastings in the Shenmue community)
@shenmuevillage.bsky.socialThe fake/fan-made Shenmue IV trailer from a year ago had so much passion, care, love, and dedication put into it, along with a deep knowledge of the series lore from this shot alone of Shenhua using her powers, which is taken from the PB trailer.
