So these genes of instinct evolved over millions of years some- how knew in advance, millions of years before now, what a particular flock of birds was going to do at a particular millisecond of time (and all birds in all flocks in every millisecond of time over the course of millions of years). Yet instinct is supposed to be the down-to-earth, real-world, “scientific” explanation for these incredible movements of birds, insects, and other similar planetmates. Instinct implies a kind of foreknowledge, premonition, or clairvoyance wilder than anything imaginable (and all contained within that microscopically small package of DNA), but somehow the idea of telepathy — what I am calling mind-sharing — is considered unscientific and too fantastical to be believed. The same with dolphins and fish. We see their precise synchro- nous movements, as they move perfectly together in swimming and jumping, and we say that is instinctive. We cannot know how they could possibly perfectly choreograph their movements far more pre- cisely than any contestants on Dancing with the Stars are able to, even after much training. THE DESCENTS OF MAN Page 15 Fourteenth Descent — Misogyny Since men were being controlled by higher-ups outside the family, they began taking that model of authoritarian control into the family, as well. This was first applied to children, but at this point it began being directed at women. Wives were required to submit to their mates in a manner similar to the way men were being required to submit outside the family. This soothed men’s humiliation born of submission to other men by having it balanced in the family with being able to experience domination of women, particularly wives. Again, we have Ego stepping in to keep our pain repressed, regardless who around us it might hurt. The root of all our problems is our obsession to control and its resulting domination of everything around us. For humans, Ego became the prime motivation in life, towering over everything else and any other impulse. Nature did just fine for billions of years before us, but we began the rationalization — continuing right up to today — that it now needed us to manage it ... to have dominion over it ... for it was essentially just a soulless machine. People lived and loved and enjoyed life for millions of years, but our strong men and patriarchs would concoct the idea that our Small Accumulators, women, and children would be utterly lost without their telling them what to do. For — as men told themselves — these underlings were less “divine” and were closer to that dreaded and scapegoated “animal” state — defined as that which is “out of control” and “wild.”

It assumes, also, that all the learning that we observe planetmates doing concurrent with the manifestation of said instinctive acts are not actual “learning” but are part of that clockwork-like predeter- mination of any and all events — no matter how tiny or insignificant — which is caused by the infinitesimal configuration of its inner “gears” of DNA. And, remember, no consciousness involved! Hell, that’s not necessary, right? Not fantastical enough, this behavior is not just of a crude sort, for example, a bird’s ability to create a nest. No, somehow instinct is said to account for the fact that birds are able to, not only fly in formation, but make specific synchronous movements in full flight among all of them, and to do it always and an infinite numbers of times, all without any blemishes in their choreography, or mistake, or collision among them. Supposedly, these genes of millions of years development know when and how each individual bird in flight, throughout that span of eons, is supposed to move in any particular millisecond that each individual bird is in flight.

Thirteenth Descent — Hierarchy Folks who accumulated more — let us call them Large Accumulators, the earliest of what today we call the wealthy — could dominate and control, now, beyond the things of Nature, also their fellow humans. Levels of power arose, with those above dominating those below and those lower on the societal ladder needing to conform and abide by the wishes of those above, for security and sustenance reasons. This is hierarchy, and it comes into play with sedentary living and the rise of centralized living — that is, villages, then cities, then states. All are characterized by a hierarchy of power where those above could call the tune ... domination; and the ones below would need to dance to the tune of another and could no longer pursue ends of their own, which is submission. Naturally, this inequality of wealth evolved into a hierarchical arrangement of dominance and submission. Each level would control those below while being conforming and sycophantic to all those above. We have an incipient class war and an overt culture war going back to this time. For those at the top would wish to hide the injustice in this setup through social constructions — such as law, mores, and religion — which would divide the classes and keep them pitted against each other, rather than focusing their blame on the ones in control. Losing our relatively noble status as when we lived in the egalitarian cultures characteristic of gather-hunters, we began living in societies where controlling others or being controlled colored all our social interactions, and an incipient class war festered beneath the surface. Apparently when white man murdered with guns and more sophisticated weaponry it was alright, because it was done in less bloody ways? Further, they never made note of the fact that indigenous people, when they went to war, did very little killing and quite a bit of their “savagery” was merely display. So white man wiped out these “savages” and committed genocide on entire societies/cultures of them. And the indigenous peoples ... they were the savages?! I think we currently have a similar attitude about our planetmates as White Man has had about indigenous peoples historically. We are the savages seeing “savagery” in other people ... and in Nature. We are seeing what is going on in Nature through filters biased in our favor, much like being ethnocentric in judging other cultures and “races.” And with a closer look and putting judgment to the side we come up with an entirely different understanding — one that aids the cross-species understanding between humans and planetmates that is now, and none too soon, dawning on us.
