"I didn't see them myself," his son said, with a flick of an ear. "I was on shift. But Kepayuwte told me the woman sounded like you, when you've been to the saloon." He flashed an impudent smile. Tserhi gave his son a chiding look. He wouldn't deny that his native accent came out strongly when he'd been in his cups, but there were better ways to say it. "Ye mean the lass sounded like this, then?" he asked, leaning on his accent in a way he hadn't intentionally done since the last time he'd trotted it out like a parlor trick. Maaweyhi's ears stood up. "Yes, yes, like that!" he said, nodding fiercely, unable to suppress a grin. He'd always been the easiest to amuse with this trick. "Then she's no Hhetsarro, but you knew that." "You are, and you speak like that."

G'raha had thought a time or two of inquiring about claiming it for himself, but the way the Warrior of Light was still demonstrably uneasy around him had been an effective deterrent. Well. It had been up until now, at least, when he had been irresistably drawn toward a sound he had replayed in his own fevered imagination so many times he had forgotten how much better the real thing was. For all that he was in many ways a deeply private man, B'alith had always been incapable of keeping his voice down when he was getting fucked.

Writing Excerpt: They crossed the threshold, pale rocks and vibrant waters giving way to a wholly different spectrum of colours accompanied by the sheer breadth of its spread. The sound of running water was most prominent, next to the wind racing unhindered through the plains. Creaking, a worn little bridge invited them to pass under the gate ahead to join the ever-expanding crowd that were drawn to such a convenient—yet, for the journey to arrive in the region at all, rather inconvenient—location.
