Tracking ages, pen-and-paper version:

Don't write down how old a character is. Write the year they were born.

Then put the story's year at the top of every chapter.

Ages become arithmetic, not memory. Flashbacks, sibling gaps and "ten years later" stop drifting.

You miss him so much, you're no longer sure you exist. What if he hates you? Or, worse, never even thinks about you?
You pedal through feelings - loneliness, devastation, desperation - but one day, #bravery wins. You reach out, and you wait.
