I went to the beech this afternoon. It was in need of a trim.

The views this morning were suitably breathtaking.

There's still lots of hummingbird hawk moths about. They won't pose for a photograph though.

The garden is closed this Friday for a special event, so the next few days we are doing some leaf clearing around the 9/11 memorial.

Lasagne leftovers. I planted some containers with bulbs last autumn, which mostly didn't flower. Taking them out, I composted a few that were mushy or hollow and planted the survivors out at fairly random spots in the garden for a second chance. How optimistic should I be? #gardening #ukgardening

Spent the morning out on the mower collecting thatch and dead grass. This ensures when the rains come it gets to the soil and the new leaves are not hindered when they start growing.

...After emptying the compost from the bottom of an Aerobin, I needed to push the uncomposted stuff at the top into the now vacated bottom. But it was a bit mouldy and I didn't want a lung-full of spores. Hey presto!...
