The direction of travel lately from the BBC It'll be Boris or Portillo.
Bit of light hearted racism down the allotment.

@munross.bsky.socialSad to see Monty leaving #GardenersWorld. Every prog I say 'Hello Monty' at the start and try to time it so his 'hello' sounds like a reply.
But it's moved too far upmarket the last few years. I'm old enough to remember Geoff Hamilton, much more down to earth.
I hope Frances Tophill takes over.

@whalleysteve.bsky.socialAlthough Monty Don has been missing the odd #GardenersWorld show recently, today's announcement that the nation's head gardener is hanging up his dibber was a jolt. You'll be missed Monty. My preferred successor is Adam Frost.

@greenjimll.bsky.socialJust saw the BBC News article about it. Sad, but I hope he still pops up from time to time.
I guess now we'll see what the BBC do with #GardenersWorld. Will it get a new "head gardener"? Will the format be changed? I guess we wait and see... and hope it doesn't go down the path of Dr Who!
@suereeve.bsky.socialI’m old enough to remember when Geoff Hamilton WAS #GardenersWorld !
