Ah!! Too many great books. To narrow it down I'll use standalones I read in 2024. Top two favs were The Midnight Library and The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue.

Single POV. Chronically ill Lyra's biggest fear is being a burden. Her biggest interest is playing the piano—on days when she can move her fingers. My favorite trope she experiences is found family. I loved creating a cast of badass friends for her after she hasn't had friends in years.
