What a wonderful pitch event. Thank you to the #DVPit team and all the wonderful authors and illustrators who participated to make it so enjoyable.

Now that it's over, I want to share some slides I made since images were discouraged during the event. Namely character art and comps slide. 🧡

To the left, a couple is illustrated in early 19th century clothing, the man stands behind the woman and is handing off a book. The image is framed by wisteria. The title of the book is at the top and reads "Promises and Pageantry". The pitch is on the right and reads. "When Celine Wycliff makes a plan to avoid a match for herself, she enlists the help of fellow book-lover and social recluse, Daniel Moore, a trans man tired of living on the fringes of society. The two scheme to set up Daniel's friend, a marquess with Celine's older sister. The two pretend to court, and through their scheming, they become unexpected confidants to each other. Unfortunately, their secrets catch up with them, and it all comes to a head when the reason for Celine's determination to set up her sister comes to light." Four books are set up as comparative titles, framed by ornate gold wooden frames. The first is A Gentleman's Gentleman by TJ Alexander, the text next to says "Trans male lead" and "Gender identity explored through social expectations And customs". The second book is Don't Want You Like a Best Friend by Emma R. Alban. The text next to it reads "Matchmaking Schemes and antics" and "Friends to Lovers". The third book is The Other Bennet Sister by Janice Hadlow. The text next to it reads "Books as a love language" and "Oddball romance". The last book is The Duke and I by Julia Quinn. The text reads "Fake Courting" and "Classic regency romp for modern readers".
