Certainly, that adds additional variability to what humans end up becoming. Still, it is generally true that our fundamental needs as part of our staying alive and growing to maturation are taken care of near perfectly in the womb, as are other species. This changes at birth. At this point forward, the needs, essential for survival and growth, have to be provided by imperfect human adults. These adults are as different in personality as can possibly be. For they are the consequence of themselves, as well, having gone through the unique set of birthing circumstances and widely varying satisfaction of needs in their earliest life. Indeed, humans are as differ- ent from each other as in the world of Nature entire species are different from other species! So, add loneliness, as well as alienation, to our pain as the suffering planetmate. Beginning to sound like being human on Earth is for the Universe the equivalent of that hell we have fashioned in our minds, isn’t it? Anyway, this near infinite variation of human personality results in near infinite differences in the ways newborns will be attended to and nurtured.

Remember, also, that the majority of humans that have ever lived, which includes many living now, think of, nay they even have direct experience of, Nature and its aspects as being living and to constitute a living, perceiving being. And they deem that Nature to be even higher, far higher in fact, in its apprehension and consciousness than us. Stanislav Grof, for one, has found that in his modes of LSD psychotherapy, as well as his non-drug modality, holotropic breathwork, people are able to identify with and experience the consciousnesses not only of other planetmates — that is, other species on Earth — but also are able to merge with and experience the consciousnesses of higher orders of beings: the Earth, individual planets, the galaxy, particular collections of people — such as the women of all time (note here that the entities do not even have to be alive in this time and place for them to be part of a collective consciousness ... the relativity of space and time, remember?); and even collectives of supranormal beings and realities — archetypal consciousness and its reality, for example. BIRTH TRAUMA Page 20 “There’s No Place Like Home.” Many are the movies and artistic creations that point to this time in the womb — this time of sojourn in a magical world, bringing with it its possibilities for some noxious elements and unpleasant experiences. We have this memory of another life — where we lived in a completely different state, the womb — showing itself every time there is some kind of crossing of a barrier into another realm. We see how going through a membrane into another realm can take one into another place where one has adventures and rediscovers important understandings or is trans- formed or matured in some way. Remember, in the womb we existed in liquid, not air, and we received oxygen through an umbilical cord — much like a deep-sea diver through her or his air hose — not through breathing. Our umbilical cord was part of us, like another limb, and through it we were attached to a placenta, which was also felt to be a part of us; as well as it was felt to be an interface with the Benevolent Mother, the Goddess. So, our womb state was most definitely a different realm, and the closest thing to another dimension we ever experience in life ... with some very rare exceptions only. It is often the place of beginnings, of stories, the “once upon a times” that bookend the “happily ever afters” occurring at the end of stories. Snow White’s early life, living with the dwarves and in harmony with the planetmates of Nature is a depiction of this heavenly BPM I.
