In my trilogy The Brumewalker Archives, Malchior Necruka was once chief military advisor to the Archduke of Lotono. However, his experiments in creating a new weapon called the Brume warped him, leading to his eventual mutiny & invasion of all Hizril.
#FantasyIndiesSeptember Day 21: Power-hungry character in WIP. My current "baddie" isn't so much power-hungry as someone who thinks she's fighting against power-hungry people. She's wrong, and is causing big trouble as a result. #WritingCommunity

In my wip of The Nequinum Gests, the first power-hungry character is Amartia:
A demigoddess-witch, princess, temptress, colonizer, conqueror, warrior, megalomaniac, manipulator, sadist, and narcissist.
#FantasyIndiesSeptember Day 21
Vi, the mage, doesn't start as power-hungry. But he is young - for an elf - and easily convinced by others, especially his peers. The curse land of Variska will try again and again to break his joyful spirit 🥲
#fantasyindiesseptember Day 21 Power hungry character
Lara desperately wants power in Sold to the Dark Vampire Prince and will stop at nothing to put herself on the throne. 👑Her scheming and manipulation was lots of fun to write!
There are a few power-hungry characters in BREAK POINT, including Heavy Waters, a former cop who now leads a vigilante group styling themselves as the BPPD replacement. He won't stop at simply patrolling the streets. He has to run them, too. #booksky 💙📚🪐
#FantasyIndiesSeptember Day 21
Sabine already has power, it's more that she wants to retain it.
#FantasyIndiesSeptember 21 - Power-hungry character
The Mastermind of the plot to take over the empire in my fantasy agent WIP is doing it to gain power, yes, but it's specifically to free shapeshifters from persecution.
The MC, being a shapeshifter, is conflicted about this

Day 21
There are a lot of power hungry characters. Most of them believe the more powerful they are, the longer they'll survive. It's partially true, but longer is a relative term.

The most power-hungry Almost Criminal character is a behind-the-scenes supervillain who doesn't take much action early in the story.
No one save his closest accomplices know who he is, but people call him The Hollow Man.

Day 21: Power-hungry character (in published books rather than WIP)
I'm going with Aurel II. He doesn't need to climb higher, he has all the power over people he could want. But it also costs him peace, so its no fun if he doesn't use it to hurt others.
Hmm... I don't know that Such Sweet Sorrow has one. It's a different type of story.
In Aloe, it's Nekane; but she has all of the power. So, what does a person with all of the power do when they still want more? Subjugate, oppress, abuse.
#FantasyIndiesSeptember 21. Power-hungry character:
MC’s wife, Irina, has conquered a continent. She didn’t do it for power’s sake, but she has a Goal™ in mind, and if she has to take and/or destroy everything else in her way, so be it.

Power-hungry character in Rites of Departure
The Viscount of Tehrrash and his son/heir, Michael, are definitely concerned with maintaining their social status and will go to some great lengths to keep it. Even sabotaging paranormal investigations 😯
#FantasyIndiesSeptember 21: Power hungry character in WIP
In the Triempery series, Dorilian pursues power in the early books. He doesn't yet realize the ramifications.
Nammuor seeks power, of course, and of a most deadly kind.
And Stefan's hunger for power gets twisted.
21) Power-hungry character
The prompt specifies "in WIP." I don't really have those in my WIP. The conflict doesn't center around any one person or bad guy.
I kind of explore the underlying conflicts in the Alliance and how the Zadans will fit into it.
They're trying.
The majority of my villains are power-hungry (why wouldn't they be?). In "The Abyss," the Big Bad is the Lich King, who wants to turn everyone into mindless puppets.
