Sometimes, the most ancient things survive not because they were hidden, but because the earth itself decided to wrap them in stone before time could erase them. #Archaeology sugataai.com/blog/neander...

A Late Classic Maya ceramic brazier (cazuela), dating to 600–800 CE, from Xcajipé.

Interesting intricate geometric decorations.

Norway's melting glaciers reveal a stunning 6,000-year-old archive of human history, preserved in perfect condition.
Evidence: Scientific Discovery, Historical Preservation, Empirical Truth
#Archaeology #Norway

Alethekanon Psochic Hegemony Assessment Graph for World’s Largest ‘Glacial Arche...Core Verdict Card for World’s Largest ‘Glacial Arche...: Claim, Reality, and Verdict coordinates.System Analysis Details:

Context: - Secrets of the Ice: PASS (0.95, 0.90) — Successfully preserving 6,000-year-old history.
- Oslo Cultural Museum: PASS (0.95, 0.90) — Protecting fragile organic finds from decay.

Nuance: The 'Secrets of the Ice' program in Norway's Jotunheimen mountains is in its 20th year, recovering ancient hunting gear and tools exposed by retreating glaciers before they rot.

Breakdown: The Bright Side:
While glacial melting is a stark reminder of climate change, the rapid response of archaeologists ensures that these ancient human stories are not lost forever.

Social Physics: No Plane Error exists here; the physical evidence (WHAT was found) perfectly aligns with the historical origin (CAUSE) and the institutional mission of preservation (WHO benefits).

Trajectory: Social Physics Analysis:
This project executes a Smart Altruistic Loop. By transparently sharing discoveries and empowering global understanding of human heritage, the researchers resolve the physical strain of decay with highly efficient, collaborative action.

The Unavoidables: The Trajectory: The Path of Grace into Grace.
When you map the gap between stated intentions and ground-level results, it plots a direct trajectory toward Greater Good. Scientific transparency preserves our collective memory.

Alethekanon: The Unavoidable Truth: Climate change is exposing history that must be saved immediately.

The Unavoidable Lie: These ancient artifacts can survive indefinitely once exposed to oxygen.

Awwthekanon: Alethekanon:
This is empirical science at its best. The physical preservation of organic artifacts provides undeniable, falsifiable data that anchors our understanding of deep history.

Brothekanon: Awwthekanon:
It is so beautiful to think of a hunter's arrow from 6,000 years ago being held gently today. It connects us across millennia, reminding us of our shared human journey.

This #Roman potsherd discovered in Tuscany has a very unique design #FindsFriday

Whilst most terra sigillata pottery was decorated with small, standardised stamps, this example is large and ornate, hinting at an unseen side of Roman craft production.

Illustration, photograph and 3D model of a fragment of pottery. On its surface is stamped an image of a rectangular altar with a projecting cornice and base, which both appear to be decorated. Across the main body of the altar runs a horizontal garland with perhaps a left-facing songbird perched on top of a twig, and possibly a piece of fruit to its immediate right. Underneath this are stamped initials reading 'AV(in ligature)IL'.

Our more in-depth story on the sudden shut down of Chronicle Heritage. I talk to a handful of employees who recount their experience and concerns following the company’s dissolution.

Many worry about the thousands of artifacts still in Chronicle’s care.

Gonur Depe (c. 2300-1600 BC) was a capital of trade, craft and ritual. Its excavators documented about 30 dog burials holding 53 individuals — puppies to old dogs — placed beside human graves, sometimes inside the courtyards of royal tombs. #archaeology

Three Maya faces stacked one above another.

These sculptural forms recall the stacked masks of Chaac, the Maya rain god, commonly used to decorate temples and palaces in the Puuc architectural tradition of the Yucatán Peninsula.

Three thousand years ago, a Greek potter looked at a bowl and thought:

‘You know what this needs? A leg!’

Clay bowl with leg-shaped handle!🦵😆

Early Geometric period 850 BC. Altes Museum, Berlin 📷 by me

#Archaeology

My photo shows an ancient Greek pottery bowl with a rounded, deep body, wide open mouth and flared rim. It has a large handle shaped like a human leg, extending from the left side of the bowl in my photo, bending at a right angle and ending in a flat foot. The bowl has a camel-coloured surface decorated with dark brown geometric patterns, which include zigzags and meander motifs arranged in horizontal bands around the body of the bowl and along the leg. From Attica, Early Geometric period, circa 850 BC. It sits on a light stone coloured surface in a display case at the Altes Museum in Berlin.
