Broadly speaking, light is seen as representing Knowledge, Clarity, and Righetousness in the Library. In other words, an extension of the Library itself
By the same token, Curses are aligned with the dark, ignorance, and cruelty
Whether the story actually treats those

Light is associated strongly with order due to religious reasons, and it's also one of the reasons that the world exists. There are multiple gods associated with light ranging from a primordial to powerful spirits who are effectively gods.
I haven't really used light symbolically in any of my works, that I can think of.
But in #TheDragonblood, I do have the gods Deiuoreks and Gnaramater, whose main colours are white and black, respectively.
The slain sun of a Sunless Land represents worlds, knowledge & connections now lost. Baldor Daybringer made the refugees a temp solution; Circle of the New Sun adherents hope for brighter tomorrows

I want to use light & darkness as a double-edge sword in my stories/settings. Light can be holy & deceptive (even Satan can appear as an angel of light). Darkness can be sacred & malevolent.

Light is used in both practical and symbolic ways. It represents no binary good or evil. It is an element. As we show in Tales From New Darpana Bay V1: What Eyes Cant See (1/2)
Souls and Soul Magic are attributed to White light, as are the Heavens, and even Hell. Anything divine, really.
But light does not mean goodness, even though Jane initially sees it as such.
Instead, light is where shadows hide when they do not wish to be seen.

*Looks exhausted back at the first draft of One Bad Tuesday Ch.11 and Ch.9 of Licorice and mint.* yeah....yeah. you could say that.
[Cant say more because spoilers]
Light is often used in my work to symbolize more lighthearted scenes or environments. Light invokes a feeling of clarity, comfort, and cheerfulness, so I try to make use of it to elicit those types of feelings in my work.
What exactly it represents will largely depend on where you are. But most often it's associated with knowledge, both the good parts and the dangers of knowing too much

Day 22. A time your MC felt lost?
Violet feels lost figuratively because she found out everyone has been lying to her. She gets literally lost and far away from her kingdom and home and family.

Given that Yalid is the god of light and knowledge, the two very much go hand-in-hand. Light brings clarity, which in turn leads to deeper understanding. There's a form of miraclecraft that uses light to conceal writing until certain conditions are met.

Glad to hear you're feeling better!!
In Tron Daurat, light is a symbol of divinity: the nation experiences 18 hours of sunlight a day, and the latent energies of creation that are the backbone of their magic and society are called the Ohr (literally "Light").

Light in The Masqued Sorcerer tends to symbolize knowledge when people use it as a symbol in-universe.
Moonlight is more sacred than sunlight in AElit because the moon is associated with Argyros/the heavenly realms. Interestingly, over time, Seladion became associated with the full moon as well. Sunlight is life-giving, so it is also seen as good but not nearly as holy.

Day 23
I confess that sometimes my symbolism of light and darkness can be heavy-handed. Light vs. dark is one of my favorite themes, but this current WIP is very much about shades of gray.
