we planned the escape together
drew a map on stained cloth
painted our life into a colour
and you paused, I breathed
I saw #sin cover your eyes
and your smile grew green
as you walked with jealousy

Some character arcs are about becoming someone new.
Others are about finally revealing the person who was there all along.
The fun begins when the character — and the reader — can’t tell which one is happening. 🐺
