While its concept and Jessica Chastain are both effective, #OtherMommy is frustratingly paced and executed in a way that makes you constantly question its rules. Coherent writing and characters with a fraction of dimension take a backseat to hollow jump scares and confusing logic.

2. Verity - $12M for $54.38M

Other Mommy overcame terrible reviews to take the top spot at the weekend box office, while The Social Reckoning bombed. #WeekendBoxOffice #OtherMommy #TheSocialReckoning

I wish I liked #OtherMommy more than I did, because Jessica Chastain is really damn good in this movie! The problem is everything else around her, and outside of one genuinely terrific sequence involving a ball pit, there's not a lot here I can recommend.

Universal & Blumhouse Atomic Monster's Other Mommy debuted with $27.81M domestically this weekend (from 3,365 locations).

Is 'Other Mommy' is good? We say no. But it is the worst performance of Jessica Chastain's career, like one review said? Also no!

Early review data are in on #ReelRank and #OtherMommy is divisive!

Specifically, Other Mommy is dividing audiences (pretty into it) and critics (hating it), and @pstergos.bsky.social & @reelrank.net examined why on @medium.com: blog.reelrank.net/other-mommy-...
