A unicornfish from Raja Ampat, feeding on plankton in open water over a reef. I think this is a sleek unicornfish (Naso hexacanthus) but could be one of its relatives.

An oval fish with a triangular tail. It has two sharp blades at the tail base. It is light blue, with a yellowish tail fin margin and belly. The lower and rear edges of the operculum are dark. The fish is pictured alone, against blue water, but is part of a much larger aggregation feeding over a reef.

A small Black Eyed Hermit hanging out on the sand. Wonder what that pink coating is on it's back? Turns out it's a colonial marine organism commonly known as "snail fur" made of colonies of specialized hydrozoan polyps. They form a mutualistic symbiotic relationship!
