That wording appears in an official government transcript. � Christians should remember that using Christian language does not automatically make a political message the Gospel. The Gospel is Jesus Christ - His death for our sins, His burial, and His resurrection. “Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” - 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, KJV. Jesus also warned, “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” - Matthew 7:15, KJV. Christians should test the words and fruit of every public leader who invokes Christianity rather than assuming a Christian label proves faithfulness to Christ. Jesus said, “Ye shall know them by their fruits.” - Matthew 7:16, KJV. Political power, nationalism, culture-war rhetoric, and degrading people are not substitutes for the Gospel.
