There were 14.5 workshops that actually took place at Goatmire.

We lost two to illness. We regained half an AI workshop due to ingenuity from attendees.

This was a phenomenal start to the conference.

The first library I scanned with Mythos was Phoenix and it found:

Nothing!

This is an incredible statement for the quality of the library and the thoroughness of the engineering behind it. Absolutely outstanding work, dear Phoenix team! #ElixirLang

I doubt Joe Armstrong (the creator of Erlang) would be indulging in defeatism.

Before you reach for Enum.reduce to count occurrences of items, check out Enum.frequencies/1 and Enum.frequencies_by/2. Counting things has never been easier!

I made it so that @temper.bsky.social can compile to #ElixirLang with support for real concurrency / async models in the destination Elixir code.

This has been a bit of a journey, so I figured I’d write out a thread here. If you’re unfamiliar with Temper I will try to paint that picture, too 🧵

I hate it when a good person such as Sasa Juric write what is basically a blog post on X

Goatmire had ~30 speakers covering a very wide gamut of topics and styles. I've consistently heard that the level of talks was outstanding. Our speakers should be proud.

Sikio, my little media player, has hatched. Podcasts, YouTube and PeerTube channels in one self-hosted inbox. I no longer miss a new PeerTube or podcast episode, and YouTube doesn't confuse me any longer.

DHH did some experiments with LLMs that put #ElixirLang in a bad position. José Valim and others in the community saw this and said: "Hey, you used more resources with the other languages. It's an unfair comparison with Elixir". DHH: Yes, I used more features with other languages.

José Valim, the creator od #ElixirLang:

"What frustrates me the most is the lack of curiosity.

People saw the numbers they wanted to see and ran with the story. They didn’t ask about the process. They didn’t question the results. They didn’t explore the code. They didn’t look at the history.

all in a single SQLite file and one dir of blobs

the protocol primitives (CIDs, DAG-CBOR, MST, CAR, TIDs, JWTs, secp256k1) are implemented in-house since this is the funny part =p

feedback welcome!
