Quartz? Basic as hell. #Cuprite is where it's at.
Haha, if #cuprite loses, that's the angle I'm taking. At least I don't have to hear quartz mentioned for a loooooog time.
Team #cuprite since I love an underdog
#MinCup26 FINALS!!!
We have a pair of geometric beauties as deep red #Cuprite is against versatile #Quartz.

Despite the difficult choice I will keep my position from the QF: #cuprite it is for me.
While not good as jewellery its high IOR does it for me.
Plus we need to appease our mechanical overlords 😉 and cuprite is easy to obtain copper from!
We're at the point where only bad bitches remain and there are no wrong answers...but also #Cuprite is the MORE correct answer!
#Cuprite may be the “flashy” colourful mineral, but I am #TeamHalite because it is an essential mineral! I live on the edge of Cheshire, and #Halite has been an important part of local industry for millennia! If you vote #Halite I will go to Nantwich tomorrow and show you proof!
Semi final #MinCup26 match up between #Cuprite and #Halite - I'm now fully behind the magnetic #Cuprite - and have dug out that neutron diffraction discovered it has nearly ZERO thermal expansion from 200-300 K link.springer.com/article/10.1... WEIRD!
Let's see #Cuprite in #MinCup26 finals! Jauch and Reehuis used γ-ray diffraction to revisit how electrons are arranged in Cu₂O, finding incomplete ionization of Cu and O but no Cu–Cu charge build-up to support covalent bonding. Reported in @actacrystb.iucr.org: journals.iucr.org/paper?S20525...
