But that was just a forerunner for what was REALLY coming. See, this was just before the Asset Price Bubble, and by consequence the OVA market, was on the cusp of busting, thus Crisis was making money hand over fist...Artmec and Youmex noticed this... #BubblegumCrisis #BubblegumCrash

Priscilla Asagiri, Bubblegum Crisis.

Well...it eventually did...but they managed to squeeze THREE episodes out of it for another attempt to start the Knight Sabers...only for another forced stop. #BubblegumCrisis

We are NOT done with the Knight Sabers. As short as the OVAs were by the split, it still made Artmac and AIC money! And one little split with Youmex isn't gonna stop them from trying to make MORE money, right? #BubblegumCrisis

The voice acting...is pretty good...with a reminder that this was done at a time where VA work as a whole was VERY different. It wasn't uncommon for some even seasoned pros to sound stiff and awkward, but considering most of them just did this, they did great. #BubblegumCrisis

My GOODNESS is Lisa being fluidly animated as she runs around in the AD Police building trying to survive!

The animation and music are more than a time capsule of an era long gone, as everything holds up all these years later, and the whole mess with Genom from how they rule over everything to breaking that law I keep bringing up echos the world today. #bubblegumCrisis

But this doesn't mean this is a bad series, not by a long shot. This manages to overcome whatever production snafus came it's way and deliver a pretty epic OVA series at the right time that manages to hold up all these years later. #BubblegumCrisis

The reason this doesn't feel like much of a conclusion, or even a cap at all, is because it wasn't. There was supposed to be 5 more parts (I don't care what Wikipedia says) and it shows. #BubblegumCrisis

Nene stops the self destruction, Leon stops the crazy man, Lisa decides to NOT expose the Knight Sabers...again, save for their IDs, I didn't think they were that secretive...and the niece is going back home. #BubblegumCrisis

This episode is making me have flashbacks to You're Under Arrest The Movie!

"Mackie..."

"I'll help you!" This is the closest the two are gonna have to a relationship. Again, done better in Tokyo 2040 (More on that next week). #BubblegumCrisis

The Boomers are destroyed, the reporter confronts Nene...but Madman McMadman decides if he can't win, he'll BLOW THE WHOLE THING SKY HIGH AND TAKE PART OF THE CITY WITH IT! #BubblegumCrisis

Nene tries to get the niece out, but the Boomers do everything to try to kill her.

Stop. Don't. Come back. #BubblegumCrisis

So, we see the new suits...and enjoy 'em as we got 'em, because as I said, this was accidentally made the final ep. #BubblegumCrisis

Nene tries to shoot one of the newer Boomers, only for bullets to bounce off so she...tries...again...

I just realized that Nene's work friend kinda reminds me of Nabiki...

The Boomers attack the AD Police and one of 'em even bonds with the tower...and if this sounds familiar, yes, this would actually be done much better in Tokyo 2040. #BubblegumCrisis

"It will be fine...I think..."
I'm getting Mina/Sailor Venus vibes from Nene this episode.
