Ahead of its 89th anniversary, valuations for J.R.R. Tolkien's first published novel are spiking. We bypass the marketing hype to examine the real economic data behind a 43,000 pound sale of a pristine 1937 print run. #BookCollecting

So, snagged a mint 1st edition of Mirrorshades, lovely, and it's also signed by 4 peeps: William Gibson, Pat Cadigan, Greg Bear and Patrick Kelly. It's coming from 🇺🇸 so it'll be 2 or 3 weeks before it shows up. Cost me half a Sun Eater set....

Arrival today. Three cool things about this book. 1st, it's a Bob Shaw 1st edition, not to be sniffed at. 2nd it's signed by Shaw, yay, and 3rd, it's from the library on the f*cking Royal Yacht Brittania! (gawd bless all who sailed in her...). #scifibooks #sciencefiction #bookcollecting #bookhaul

These lovelies also arrived yesterday. I am intrigued by the Joan Vinge in particular. #bookcollecting #bookhaul #scifibooks #sciencefiction #cyberpunk

And so it begins @bruces.bsky.social. Lovely copy. #cyberpunk #bookcollecting

Updated Cyberpunk collecting targets, updated to include some suggestions here and on my Discord. Green I have, Blue on their way, Yellow I have a copy, usually paperback, and want to upgrade, White are gaps. #cyberpunk #sciencefiction #bookcollecting

Collecting the key cyberpunk texts. Green I have, blue are on the way. What have I missed? Is there anything I should add to the list? I'm focusing on the 1980s unless there is an obvious adjacency (eg Shockwave Rider). #scifibooks #sciencefiction #cyberpunk #bookcollecting

Hi Folks, new video 🎥! I run through some recent additions to my groaning shelves. Check it out 👀! #scifibooks #sciencefiction #booktube #bookcollecting #bookhaul

I am getting a potentially expensive penchant for 1980s cyberpunk 1st editions. The early Gibson in particular are crazy prices. Starting with Swanwick and Sterling which are available for merely wince-inducing $$. This one is an early target. #scifibooks #sciencefiction #bookcollecting #cyberpunk

Shelf 49 of my science fiction library. Space-opera-tastic on the left, little more high-brow on the right. #scifibooks #sciencefiction #bookcollecting #shelfie

Curious to hear people's thoughts: for handbound work, do you think a book needs to have a title on it?
For me, I think it's better to have it than not, but if it doesn't work with the design, it doesn't work. The box will have the title and author anyway.
