Strong westerly anomalies persisted in the central equatorial #Pacific in the past 30 days, resulting in strengthening #ElNino. MJO in phases 8 & 1 will help maintain westerly anomalies & favor upwelling in the eastern tropical IO. The upwelling can lead to a +IOD in autumn.
