This self-seeded Calendula (possibly 'Snow Princess') has been popping up here and there in the front garden for a few years now. Long may it continue to do so! #GardensHour 🌱

Red is a strong colour in the garden so can clash. By chance I think I’ve found that dark green is a good backdrop for them. This is rose ‘Frilly Cuff’ in front of a Euonymous japonica (Jean Hughes) hedge.

It gets a fair amount of sun apart from the darkest winter months as we have trees blocking the sun. It still gets some each morning though. I’ve only ever had pots in this position and they’ve always done well #GardensHour
