Bay Bolete, Imleria badia.
In beech and pine woods near Swaffham, Norfolk, yesterday.
Several caps without a stipe but one lovely little specimen too, like a Penny Bun (Boletus edulis) but with a darker cap and pores that bruised blue.

Spores.
I have very limited knowledge of fungi, I can recognize this as a parasol but that's as far as I dare go!

A selection of fungi from a mercifully wet New Forest this week 😁🌧️ See ALT text for more. #fungi #Newforest
A minuscule community hidden in the moss 🍄🟫🍄🟫 #fungi #fungifriends
Not all fungi are toadstools! Here’s a grey covering of Clover Powdery Mildew, Erysiphe trifoliorum, on White Melilot, Melilotus albus, in @cubotanicgarden.bsky.social today. 🩶😉

Seems like the mushrooms are stalling their arrival until we get a bit more rain but I was lucky to spot these ones in the forest today 🍄🟫 #fungi #fungifriends #mushroom #autumn
Brown Birch Bolete (Leccinum scabrum) taken today in The Scottish Wildlife Trusts' Bawsinch and Duddingston Nature Reserve, Edinburgh. #Fungi #Mushrooms #Mycology #Nature #Photography #OMSystem #Edinburgh #Scotland @scotwildlife.bsky.social
I met this cheery #mushroom in the New Forest. He said his name was Pete Bolete! 🍄 🙂
I think it’s a Scarletina Bolete, but he neither confirmed or denied! 🤐

This honey fungus (Armillaria mellea) is everywhere in the New Forest at the moment - but I like the way these photos show the black rhizomorphs (or ‘bootlaces’) used by the fungus to colonise new substrates and transport nutrients. #fungi #NewForest
A new crop of these silvery beauties. Their colors are more on the tarnished side but still lovely and graceful. #fungi #mushrooms
