#UKFungusDay today. Some Dead Man’s Fingers on a neighbour’s tree stump, and some Dog Vomit #SlimeMold spotted earlier in the week (near a good load of Ink Caps). #Mycology
Growing near Gunnera in @cubotanicgarden.bsky.social Stream Garden this leaf looks like Common Meadow-rue, Thalictrum flavum, & hence #mildew on it Erysiphe aquilegiae var. ranunculi (quoting Woods et al, 2024. See ALT).
All those in favour! ✋🍄

Some more beautiful Waxcaps from this week #ukfungusday
Nitrous (Neohygrocybe nitrata)
Yellow foot (Cuphophyllus flavipes)
Scarlet (Hygrocybe coccinea)
Pink (Porpolomopsis calyptriformis)
#ukfungusday and nice to finally have Waxcaps up and about. Surveys this week still have a feeling of early September in terms of who's fruiting. The hot dry summer really seems to have pushed the season back.
Fibrous Waxcap (Hygrocybe intermedia)
I agree, couldn’t face driving from Cambridge so I’ve spent
#UKFungusDay looking for fungi that aren’t toadstool shaped. Here’s an example - Shropshire Blue! 😉
Not all fungi are toadstools! Here’s a grey covering of Clover Powdery Mildew, Erysiphe trifoliorum, on White Melilot, Melilotus albus, in @cubotanicgarden.bsky.social today. 🩶😉

I met this cheery #mushroom in the New Forest. He said his name was Pete Bolete! 🍄 🙂
I think it’s a Scarletina Bolete, but he neither confirmed or denied! 🤐
