A small cup I glazed with only Opal Lustre (Mayco) glaze! I really enjoy this look.

A vase I glazed to look like the planet Jupiter!
I became too attached to it, so it is only for display purposes at my booths 😅
I really want to make a set of cups like this!!

#EmbersCeramics #ceramics #art #handmade #陶芸

The inside of the ceramic vase. It is a myriad of browns and reds, with the occasional blue/grey color breaking past the others. All of the colors melt together, yet the surface retains a matte finish. The vase sitting on a kiln lid. A section of the vase has a large reddish brown smudge on it, much like the raging storm on Jupiter's surface known as the Great Red Spot. The vase is a rounded cylindrical shape. Wider at the top than the bottom.A green heat resistant glove holding the very hot vase. It has just been taken out of the hot kiln.Another view of the inside of the vase.

Crystalline glazes are a bit finicky, but they are so very cool!! Dark Star from the AMACO Cosmos series is my favorite so far! I love the metallic stars.

#EmbersCeramics #ceramics #art #handmade #陶芸

A hand holding up a ceramic bowl. The bowl is a dark metallic black and gold color. It has many metallic fractal stars across its surface. The bottom section of the bowl is a light brown color. The same bowl tilted to show its interior. The inside of the bowl is a deep dark blue color, with lighter and darker blue speckles all throughout.

Temmoku and Lapis Flow pair well together!
Originally going to be a jar, I decided to make it a small vase instead.

A cup glazed with Opal Lustre(Mayco) and Indigo Float(AMACO)! This glaze combination is really nice! A very cloudy sky look!

Smokey Merlot and Midnight Run glazes go extremely well together!!
Definitely using this glaze combination more in the future! Im curious to see it on a red clay body.

The edges of the cup are a light brown color. The inside of the cup. The inner rim is the same light blue from the exterior. It quickly melts into the foggy purple on the cups interior. The rim is light brown.

A cup glazed with Ancient Jasper. Its one of my favorite glazes due to how vastly different it can look with different amounts of layers.
I always glaze at least one piece with it when I make a new batch of ceramics!

#EmbersCeramics #ceramics #art #handmade #陶芸

A hand holding up a small ceramic cup. The cup has two rings carved out near its bottom half. The cup is a light brown color that trickle and fades into a darker brown near the base. The rim itself is dark brown and runs off into a blue-ish grey color, then fading into the cups light brown body. The same cup tilted to show its interior. The inside is a rich brown, with the center having a red tint to it.

A cup I glazed with only Lapis Flow. It instantly became one of my favorite glazes, I really like the variation it has over textured surfaces!

I made a 2 piece set of a daruma themed cup and bowl! I made these while I was losing weight as a reminder to keep going! The kanji on the side says 「身体健勝」meaning "Good Health"! I met my weight goal soon after making them, so thank you little daruma!

#EmbersCeramics #ceramics #art #handmade #陶芸

A red daruma shaped ceramic cup stacked onto its daruma bowl counterpart. There is a green background, and the daruma are sitting on a black table. The daruma only have one eye filled in, their right eyes. Their faces are white and their bodies are red. Black painted lines imitating facial hair adorn their faces. The view of the left side of the stacked daruma ceramics. The kanji is visible on this side. A salt cellar I made in the form of the Golden Egg from Splatoon for a commission! It was the first jar form I had ever made. It was really fun to make!

#EmbersCeramics #ceramics #art #handmade #陶芸

A hand holding up a bright deep yellow ceramic salt cellar jar. On the top of the jar stretching across the lid is a fish skeleton glazed a metallic gold. Theres is a metallic gold knob in the center of the lid connected to one of the fish ribs. A porcelain chicken soap dish!
I'd like to make more breeds of chickens as soap dishes. I really like chickens!

#EmbersCeramics #ceramics #art #handmade #陶芸

A hand holding up a white ceramic chicken in the shape of a soap dish. It has an orange beak, black beady eyes, and a red crown and waddles. It has a stubby tail on its backside. Three elevated rows sit inside the dish to keep soap from sitting in water that falls into the soap dish. The front view of the chicken soap dish. It is staring directly into the camera.

One of the larger pots I've made. I really enjoy how the glazes melted together on this one!

#EmbersCeramics #ceramics #art #handmade #陶芸

A ceramic pot sitting on a kiln lid. Its base color is a dim/dull grey-ish blue color, dark purple streaks melt into the base color across the pot. The glaze colors look fog-like or frosty against the surface of the pot.The inside of the pot. It is grey, similar to the grey in thunder clouds. There are small thin wispy dark grey streaks throughout the inside.

Two of the smallest komainu I have ever made. The one on the left is the smallest I have been able to make them! I ended up keeping him. He currently sits on my desk.

#EmbersCeramics #ceramics #art #handmade #陶芸

A hand holding a red ruler vertically on top of a kiln lid. At the bottom of the ruler sits two very small ceramic komainu. The one on the left of the ruler is a green jade color, it's just under 1inch tall. The one on the right of the ruler is a dark brown color with light brown/goldish highlights on its surface. Inside the crevices of the komainu is a deep blue color. This komainu is about 1 centimeter taller than the other komainu, but is much thicker.

🍐This beautiful pear-shaped porcelain bottle from Japan is covered in a distinctive green flambé glaze.
It was made by Ishiguro Kōkō of the Sumida Pottery in Tokyo, named after the nearby Sumida River.
