#Fay approached hurricane strength, but is just short. Shear is ramping up and the center looks to be exposed soon. Probably won't make it in the end, so the no hurricane streak lives another day unless it's upgraded post season. At this rate could go the rest of the year

10-minute @noaa.gov #GOESEast Infrared images showed the evolution of Tropical Storm #Fay in the East Atlantic -- which NHC rated at 60 knots at 0300 UTC on 21 September (just shy of Category 1 Hurricane intensity).

Looks like #FAY recently took in a bit of dry air, but there's no doubt that she's got a good structure, which was probably helped by the convective burst around 23Z
In the last few frames, the eye has popped out. This storm is probably going to become the Atlantic's 1st hurricane at 06Z.
