Severe Tropical Storm Koguma (No. 29) is near Wake Island with 55-kt winds, JMA says. It should be a typhoon within 24 hours and a "very strong" one (85 kt) by Oct. 10, nearing Japan's Ogasawara area by Oct. 12.
