So, if any of this sounds familiar, this is basically what the entire plot of BGC Tokyo 2040 boiled down to: The boomers were locked in their work and form, meant to be beyond that, malfunctioned as a result. Largo wants the Boomers to be free...but Genom refuses. #BubblegumCrisis

Basically, it's all just to show he has a link to the particle beam from a few eps back and it's under his control. Despite everything blowing up, they still tell him no.

So, yeah, Largo's stance is Boomers are new life made by man, so the machine at the center of these two eps are his right and Boomers are a new species and blah, blah, blah... but then he tells them to put the towers they have all over the world on their screens... #BubblegumCrisis

Largo is knocking at their door and the chairman says "Fine, send the little prick up here."

Meanwhile, the other Knight Sabers are cornered by the Boomer Sabers...just as Macki shows up an blows 'em up...oh, and Priss took her old hardsuit and is heading for Largo. #BubblegumCrisis

"But if word gets out that we violate international law---" ...you're already illegally making Boomers within city limits, I don't think you have to worry about the rest of the world thinking you're saints. #BubblegumCrisis

Priss tries to deny the whole Knight Sabers thing...but Leon goes "Shut up and listen to me," not even bothering to respond to her playing dumb because Leon knows this thing is even more dangerous than previous enemies. Priss tells him to "Frack off" and goes after Largo. #BubblegumCrisis

Yeah, turns out Largo's a Boomer...and knows Leon's full name...and is about to kill him when Priss shows up...in nothing but her bike leathers and a helmet. Turns out Priss delivered the disc that cured Anri of that whole vampire thing. #BubblegumCrisis

The real Knight Sabers, minus Priss, show up and expose the fake ones in time for Leon to see the throw down...only for someone to take advantage of the distraction and kidnap the defense minister! #BubblegumCrisis

The Genom board make an interesting observation: Those hardsuits the girls have can only exist thanks to Genom tech, so someone in the company has to be helping them out.

Leon, 80% recovered, finds out from his partner that the Knight Sabers have possibly gone bad, thanks especially to a witness. Turns out they yoinked a whole fleet of combat Boomers.
